Morning all, puppies are gorgeous. I've posted pics on my Facebook page. How is everyone this morning? Another early one but it means OH is at least working. A lot of my colleagues at work said 'just take two cars', fair enough that's their take but do they not realise the cost?

Finally made my marmalade yesterday and it was a resounding success! 7 jars. Very happy.

How is everyone? Me? Waiting to hear if my job will be extended. Marmalade distributed around family and a few friends. OH, is waiting to hear about a few jobs after interviews and SS has had a severe telling off and told sort his room out or he could leave today. He did, but he started a row last night with OH (I'm not sure whether its deliberate or just stupidity) so OH has been like a bear with a sore head today and SS has stayed out of the way. SS is still into that zeitgeist nonsense after buying the dvd, we have no idea who got him into it. He tried (after his Dad walked out of the living room) to 'try' to talk to me about his 'theories' on money etc. He ended up just talking over me so I asked him to leave me in peace to watch the film I had on. OH, shouted through and said he either stays out of our way and mends his ways or he can leave immediately. We're a bit mystified as where all this has come from. Has anyone else got any experience of this sort of stuff? He must have got it from somewhere.

Apart from all of the above, I'm still trying to lose some weight and thats not going well. Had a 'moment' when I thought how much money I've wasted over the years and much extra debt I could have avoided. Anyone else feel like this?

  • Sounds a bit like tensions are running high :o Hopefully things have calmed down by now, and OH and SS can talk about stuff rather than shout!

Yes I've the same feeling ref debt too! There's a lot of stuff I could've done very differently if I'd had the head screwed on years ago. By this stage I could have several years of savings behind me, rather than several months :o

But better late than never! Just glad I've my 'head above water' now ;):rotfl:

Hello All, how is everyone? No news on renewal as yet. But managed to transfer some of my debt to 0% for a year!!! Yay.

Ok heard (from my own boss) he is extending my contract. No idea for how long and still need to see it go through. But at least its heading in the right direction!

Made more jam, pineapple jam this time. Resounding success. 7 jars for the princely sum of £2.50. So guess what I'll be doing as christmas presents for people :p. Is that bad? :o

Trying to lose weight, and so far I've lost 3lbs (last week). I got a fright when I stepped on the scales and realised I was 14 and a half stone!!!!!!!!. So swapped my normally carb heavy lunches for garden salad (no dressing) with lean chicken. I didn't realise I was as heavy but got fed up clothes getting tighter and tighter.

OH has work and seems to be enjoying it. But even though SD isn't about she's causing grief (long story) and OH has been like a bear with a sore head about it. Told him he has to move on from it as she doesn't care about his feelings at all.

SS goes in for surgery next week (hernia) and is playing it up when it suits him. But he is staying out more at a friend's which is good.

As I mentioned above I've managed to get 0% for a year for a little bit of my debt. I have only put on what I think I can clear. But its a good sign isn't it that I'm getting offered 0% again? I'm also due other money back (around £500) which I'll be putting away to savings. Why? So I have a cushion, for transport etc. My car isn't going to last forever so I need to save.

How is everyone? Sorry I've been awol, but normally shattered when I get in, but still really enjoying my job.

Great news about your job!! :j Fingers crossed you're there for a long time yet! And pleased to hear you're enjoying it too! Makes all the difference!!

Well done on the jam! Could you even sell off a few jars to make a few extra ££?

Very well done on the weight loss too!! :T:T You are much better to go by how your clothes fit rather than your actual weight. I luuuuuurve salads! They taste nicer when we've got the sunny weather to go along with them though
Don't diet coz they never work :p lol. Just change your habits!! Cut down the carbs a bit and stack up on the protein more. Lots of fruit and veg. And up your water intake. Worked wonders for me! ;) I walk loads now and although my weight hasn't changed a huge amount, my figure really has.

Hope things are more settled at home now that OH is working again and SS isn't about quite so much.

Other than the usual (OH stressing and me apparently huffing!), everything is fine with me :D
