Hello, HAW, Keiss, LT. I started last wednesday. Even though its further to travel than my previous job I'm home earlier now but I am shattered. OH and I were at an engagement party on fri, his check up on sat and my Gran's on Sunday. I've come out in a horrendous rash and don't know whats caused it! Found out I should get paid this fri which is good news as I thought it was 10 days behind. OH's work are mucking him about and giving him severe grief that he's had eye surgery and even though he's got paperwork to prove his eyesight is now better than 20/20 they think they are qualified to give him a sight test and fail him. Nice eh? That all kicked off today. Poor OH called me and I was in middle of meeting. Still to find out what happened. He's working tonight and just about to go wake him up.

How is everyone? What have I missed?

  • Hey!

Even though you're finishing earlier, the extra travelling plus learning the new ropes is probably whats making you so tired. That plus you didn't get a proper break at the weekend either. Try for a slightly earlier night, even by half an hour, during the week, and try to not plan too much for this weekend and give yourself a break! :)

Your OHs work are idiots :p Hopefully it's all sorted very soon!

I'm grand :) Would need to go read my diary myself to find out what you've missed!! ha ha (prob not a lot knowing me! ;))

Well OH has not to go to work until the situation is resolved. That means he won't get paid! It never rains but it pours, its not fair. He's given them the documentation they asked for and now they're saying its not good enough.

Ok, car needs some work done (thankfully not too bad) but it cant be done till next weekend. Then it'll be re-tested. Heating is fixed, OH's nephew is heating engineer so he had checked it and got the part we needed. If we'd got it done through the big named comepany that advertising 'your world' it would have cost £300. Through OH's nephew, he just took the money for the part and asked me to make him dinner. OH and I insisted on buying him a bottle of single malt as a thank you as he's saved us a fortune.

Dinner was home made chinese chicken curry and egg fried rice. Sitting relaxing, nice to have heat again (sat with a film on in the background). You wouldn't believe how cold it was without, OH and I have been walking around the house with duvets wrapped around us! SS kept asking (even though we answered it) when the heating was coming back on so he could dry the clothes he wanted to wear on his night out!

Got my first pay yesterday. I've put money aside in my savings and went for food shopping today. I did treat myself to my favourite shampoo and conditioner (which I've not bought in over a year, instead bought cheap ones), but made sure I got the best deal on it. Bad I know but I really wanted it.

    Hello :D

Sorry for being out of touch for a few days!!

Great news that car will be mended soon. Bargain on the heating too! It's all 'who you know', huh?! ;) I'm sure the dinner and bottle will be much appreciated :D

:j to the pay!! I (sorta!) did the same myself last week when I got paid ref the shampoo and conditioner!! I usually buy cheap/on offer, but decided I'd get something a bit more upmarket for a change. Offer was 2 for £6 on Trevor Sorbie. Not hugely expensive compared to some, but for me it was a nice treat :D

It was the go blonde John frieda ones I bought HAW, I got 2 for £8. Well above what I'd normally pay for shampoo and conditioner.

Morning All, how is everyone? Job is going well. OH is now back at work but is still getting grief over his op. My car is back in for its MOT test so fingers crossed. Payday yesterday, so I've paid money to 'Beast'. I've been using it to pay for parking, peetrol etc and paying it back once I get paid. The reason for this is beast is a cashback cc, I know it won't give me a lot back but every bit helps.

Writing out my food shopping list, my freezer is literally full so I'll have to be careful what I get will keep in the fridge. Difficult as OH has been quite picky about food this week.
