Am I really sad??

Add me to the list of 'sad' people, lol.
I keep all of our accounts on spreadsheets - including daily spending projections - spent yesterday afternoon 'projecting' through to a couple of months after we pay off our last debt (Jun 2009 if all goes to plan).
It's lovely seeing a £500+ credit sitting at the end of each month - imagine what we can do with that - holidays, school trips (will have 3 at school by then), a big 'do' for our 10th wedding anniversary that December (never had a proper wedding).
But first of all, I'm looking forward to 2 weeks time - I get to pay off three creditors with one fell swoop - little ones admittedly, but it's three that I don't have to think about ever againDFW Nerd no. 884 - Proud to [strike]be dealing with[/strike] have dealt with my debts0 -

I've become obsessed with making lists and working out how much money we have per day and per week to spend.. I check the internet bank literally every other day!!Total 'Failed Business' Debt £29,043

Every other day?
I do obsess a little myself. Just realised I had a few hundred quid in savings, but at 2.3% interest. I had to call up the bank to add a transferable account, so I could move it to my 4.9% with the Alliance.

I'm just like you.
I have two jobs, one paid weekly, the other monthly, so on average I have three little paydays and one big payday per month.
All accounts get checked online at least once a week. Once I would have checked them for a drop of blind hope that there was a bit of cash/credit there. Now I check to see the progress I am making and pat myself on the back.
Also, once a month, the money gets shuffled around and I update my sig on here!"Life is like a game of cards. its not sad at all!
I think a lot of us used to get our kicks from shopping... or a new top, or whatever.. we're just getting those kicks somewhere else now, and in a much more constructive way!
ps - well done! That first zero balance is a kick isnt it??:D0 -
Not sad at all though sometimes when I'm scribbling down every bit of spending and getting disappointed if I spend a bit more than usual on food I do worry about myself!Official DFW Nerd Club - Member #398 - Proud To Be Dealing With My Debts :T

I don't think you're sad at all - just committed to your cause. A poster on another thread was asking how to keep motivated, and I think they way you're challenging yourself and getting a thrill from each achievement however small is great for keeping your motivation up.
Good luck.Debt at highest: £6,290.72 (14.2.1999)

Def not sad!!!!
I actually look forward to the end of each month now to see how much we have paid off our debts. We've been keeping a spreadsheet to keep track of the balance and also the dates all the 0% deals end, etc.
Things are gonna slow right down when bump is born (due 11th May), but we don't intend for our debts to increase again........hopefully!!!!
So anything that keeps you motivated isn't sad, just a great idea when facing a huge task like becoming debt free.
Well done on clearing the cc!!!! :jWhat's he building in there???
Debt at highest £30,450 (Dec 05)
Debt at lowest £9, 113 (Jul 07)
How much did we over spend whilst on maternity leave :mad:0
