I might be missing something but RTA insurer obligations arise from s148 & 151/152 and I can't see anything in either of those that limits or removes the RTA insurer obligation just because the vehicle concerned has been sold rather than than lent (with or without change of RK)

thanx for your replies.. This is what I did.. I get 7 days free insurance on my new car. During those 7 days, my old car is still insuranced by my current insurance provider (insurance provider's recommendation) After the 7 days, my current insurance provider will insure my new car.

Luckily my old car was still insured as their was a day's delay in getting my new car!
