ebay and me

I think I am slowly going mad or just round in circles. I sold a designer handbag and the buyer said it was damaged and could she send it back . I agreed. She didn't open a case. Now the bag is back here and has been damaged. The strap looks like it has beeen cut with a stanley knife. I phoned ebay and was told as they didn't open a case I should send the bag back to the buyer.
I have looked at my buyer's feedback and she buys and sells this brand of designer handbag all the time. Buys and Sells on the same account so if you have the time ( like me ) you can check what she paid for an item and what she sells it for. :p
I can feel a negative coming and also loosing out on quite a bit of money.
Any ideas what to do?

Yes she did. It arrived this morning and I checked it on line.
It just annoys me as I wonder how often she does this. She buys and sells several of these bags every day.
  • Could buyer have damaged it when they opened the packaging? Or is it in fact not the same bag, but an identical one that's damaged (perhaps that they bought elsewhere some time? ;) )
Also, do you have lots of photos of the item as you sent it? i.e. can you show that it was not damaged when you sent it out?

I guess wait for her to open a case and deal with it then.

She could still open a case, and she would almost certainly win it unfortunately.
