IVA complete but still problems, advice required

Options
morning everybody.

My wife and I took out an IVA in July 2005. This was completed in July 2011 without any problems. As per the courts etc we received no statements etc from the creditors we owed money too and they were directed straight to the IVA company.

Since the completion of the IVA I have paid £2 for the statutory credit report (2 months ago) and received the report. Firstly the report showed no end date on the IVA which I have now got sorted with Experian by sending the legal documents.

Last week however I recevied 4 letters and statements from the old creditors stating I owe them money and the figures they quote are the figures when the IVA started. I rang them all up (mostly Eversheds) and gave them the legal document reference numbers and have posted them off. What worries me is, should this happen , I thought everything should be zero balance and will this cause problems with my credit report. None of the creditors I had show up on it but I am very Worried about it. The IVA company are rubbish really now its all complete but I worry about my credit file.

Job loss caused the IVA and I am working hard for the future to resolve my credit problem so I can change my mortgage to more of a mainstream lender but worry bigtime.

Any advice would help

    Hi,

Mine was similar with the credit report I sent off the certificate of completion off to them and got it sorted but then one of my creditors didn't have records of it being done. So I sent my cert off to them too and all was sorted, just send them the cert off and if you get any letters then state this has all been finished as part of the iva and that you have sent off the completion notice which should state what was paid to who.

It took me a month to get my credit report all sorted out and everything removed off only thing I couldn't get off was barclaycard as they have no records to remove so need to wait till middle of next month to have it drop off.

    Regards and good luck.

  • Cheers Aidan.

Checked the credit report and only 1 of the companies shows up on the report so will send them the official letters and court info so will check the credit report in a month or so.

Just really worried me that info is getting lost between the IVA company and my original creditors when they say now that money is still owed.

Hardest part if that creditors I had in 2005 (MBNA etc ) have sent the debt to Eversheds etc. I will send info to Experian direct aswell for them to amend my credit file. Just want to build up my credit again. Really now my file should be fine as its 14 months since the IVA totally ended, so things should disappear

I can understand your position as I was like that knew everything was done and dusted in July so left till August and then went through both equifax and experian to make sure everything was off had so many phone calls to do and emails to send but is worth it after it is all clean, managed to be accepted for a mortgage in principal have changed banks and was given a overdraft straight away so things do get better just takes some time.

Keep on at them take notes from calls and send info by email so you can get it done quicker and I would use the support tools that both credit ref agencies have I paid for a month on each just so I can keep tracking it through every stage but only took a few days to have things off once they were passed the information.
