Cost for dropping kerb?

Hi all, Wondering if anyone has any idea how much it costs to have a kerb lowered in front of your house? I know the council charge around £150 for their inspection and report, but having asked them for a broad figure of the actual job, they said they couldn't give me one. I don't want to fork out £150 to then find the job…
