getting rid of flies/midges

hiyas outside our house every year we get little tiny midgyfly things, there near the front dooor and look awful.
any ideas how i can get rid of them pls?

There isn't much you can do I'm afraid. Midges breed in damp, long grass so you could keep vegetation down to a minimum (though can't really do much about your neighbours).
Midges also have trouble flying in any breeze over about 4mph, (that's why you see them mainly on still, summer evenings). Anyway of moving obstructions that may be providing shelter near your door?0
