We bought our first house last December and the advice I got from my dad who is a builder is that paying for a full survey isn't worth it as it will be so full of caveats that it's just an a*se covering exercise that lists the potential problems it can't actually find.
    Solar install June 2022, Bath
    4.8 kW array, Growatt SPH5000 inverter, 1x Seplos Mason 280L V3 battery 15.2 kWh.
SSW roof. ~22° pitch, BISF house. 12 x 400W Hyundai panels
  • From reading around, it seems thats exactly what it is. But I don't know of any better options. y I was thinking of getting a struc. engineer to make sure the structure is sound and maybe someone to check the roof and for signs of damp.

However, it seems the recommendation is to go for a (competitively-priced) full structural survey and follow up if any major concerns ?
