Silly question.

I pay my Capital One Mastercard via internet banking. My old card expires this month and I've got my new one I have to activate it, but do I have to change my payment details that I have set up with Lloyds tsb as I would hate the money I pay to go to the wrong account!! Or can I leave them as they are? Does it automatically change when I activate the card?

Comments

  • Your new card should have the same card (account) number (but a different expiry date, which is not needed when making a payment onto the account), so your payment details will stay exactly the same.

If the card were not a routine replacement, but a new card in case of loss or fraud. then the account number might have changed.

To make extra sure, check the old and new 16-digit card number.
