Evening chaps I need some advice from current restaurant owners or anybody experienced in the Self employed / Sole Trader route.

Basically I need to know with the worst painful part paperwork! how much does the following bits need and what else do I need to bare in mind I have the following Insurance / accreditation's already noted

Alcohol License
PRS Music License
Public Liability Insurance
Employee Liability Insurance
Health and Hygiene certificate
Building and Contents Insurance
General Liability ( Read somewhere if for some reason someone falls trips or gets ill from the restaurant which they wouldn't I hope! and they decide to sue the insurers cover it)

If there is any more insurance / accreditation which I would need please let me know! and how much do these in general cost?

Thank you kindly

You will also need a personal licence holder and a premises licence holder to sell alcohol

GL and PL are one and the same thing basically. You evidently have your other classes of insurance such as buildings, contents, business interruption, loss of license, employee theft etc. Thankfully most insurers offer packaged insurances for SMEs so you can buy one policy that covers all rather than needing to place each part individually but always worth doing a bit of shopping around as it isnt always cheapest to buy combined

    What do the Tapa's own?

I suggest you do not write the wording for the sign on your premises yourself.

Before launching into this venture, could you tell us what your vision of an English Tapas Restaurant is please?
Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..

I'm not being critical its just that i am obviously familiar with Spanish Tapas restaurants and bars having travelled widely in Spain and also have enjoyed several local Spanish restaurants. I'm just not familiar with the wider diversification of the Tapas concept.

Indeed i have only ever been aware of Spanish Tapas establishments.

I'm just wondering what sort of foods could be offered in an English Tapas restaurant which would be exotic and interesting enough to get customers in the door?

I mean I can see that Italian and perhaps Greek food could lend itself easily to the Tapas model .It creates a Mediterranean feel with a nice glass of Red,,perhaps Chianti or rioja..but English Tapas..? I'm not convince though i admit i have not yet experienced it.

I did a quick google for Manchester English tapas but didnt find any results. Perhaps the concept hasnt migrated much further than the capital? My whippet is more a meat and two veg kinda chap. Hes suspicious of these new concepts.

Here's one of our "Indian" ones.

Been a few around for about 10 years interestingly one of the chains of Indian eateries owns a couple of Spanish Tapas places, staffed with Indian waiters but serving Spanish style food
