Broken Iphone

Hey Tech Gods!

Today my phone fell out of my coat pocket out the car and hit the floor and smashed the entirety of the screen now ive rung apple technical support and they say it will cost me £129 to replace  which i can not avoid in the slightest,

Could i get better luck in the Apple Stores themselves?

Neil

I smashed mine in a very similar way - in fact lots of people I know have smashed iphone screens, you just learn to live with them!! Considering how much they cost, you'd think they could use some sort of unbreakable glass.

However, I took mine to an independent phone shop in the end and it cost £65 to replace and an extra tenner I think as something else was a bit damaged and I decided I might as well get it done properly.

My daughter has taken hers into the Apple shop (or it could have been the Orange shop) and they just replaced it for a brand new one. I've heard this from other people too so might be your first port of call.

Is it covered under your contents insurance? Why not try replacing it yourself?
