How to warn buyers of a dodgy seller?

I am keeping things sketchy in case this person finds me online for any reason but I know someone who's selling something (sorry for the vagueness) and they are misrepresenting the item. I don't want any buyers to be caught out, is there any way I can warn them? This is not ebay so I can find out who they are but if I contact them I might just sound like someone else trying to get it or just like a complete and utter loony
The faults aren't so bad that it's complete misrepresentation just the description is selectively missing some of its faults.

thanks, it's not ebay as I said, but even if it was I dont think I could report them anyway because there's nothing wrong with the description, it's just selectively missing a few 'faults' which wouldn't be found out until the buyer had had the item for a little while anyway. The faults are only known by me because I know the person in real life0 -

And how do you know the person asking you via PM isn't the seller?
People can't help more with the info you have given.0 -
There are 1000's of firms misrepresenting items. You only have to look at the adverts or TV to see that. If you really want to defend the public against rogue traders why start with someone you know?0

Ok, thanks for the help. It's just there are so many thread on here of individual buyers being caught out I just wanted to see if there was anything I could do.
The only reason I wanted to start with someone I know is because I know the sitution is wrong and there might be something I could do0
