Hello there
My sister and her daughter live with a friend at her friend's flat (her friend owns the flat). My sister has put in a claim in for income support after being made redundant (only been with firm 5 months so no redundancy.)
Anyway to cut a long story short, job centre want to see copies of her friends mortgage agreement, wage slips and bank account statements even though she has no financial ties to my sister and are just friends. My sister's friend has said they can bog off it isn't any of their business but my sister is worried they will refuse her claim because she won't be able to provide the documents.
Does anyone know what would happen in a case like this?

The "friend" has no obilgation whatsover to provide the details asked, but in the same thought, unless DWP are happy of your sisters eligibility, then they dont have to award the claim.
What is going on in that house? Does the friend know of the claim? What has he/she said about it?
What relationship is there between your sister and her friend?
Is your sister paying rent? If so is it being declared?
Where does her mail go?

Sounds like they are looking at a possible living together situation?0
