Code 31 error

Hi guys hope someone can help.
I unistalled a trial version of Nero 7 and now my
drive has gone, I have tried unistalling and re-installing but that does not work, on device manager for my dvd writer it says Windows can not accsess the files required to run this device properley CODE 31 also I can' t get on the net using Mozilla when I click the icon nothing happens again I have also tried re-installing it does however run as I have disscovered through Task Manager and clicking Processes.
Any ideas.

For the Firefox problem, first make sure that firefox.exe isn't running in Task Manager. End the process if it is. Then click Start - Run - type firefox -p - OK. Create a new profile and start Firefox with that profile. If it runs ok, it probably means that your old profile was corrupt, in which case transfer the settings using this guide: http://kb.mozillazine.org/Migrating_settings_to_a_new_profile0
