IVA finished & now confused
Options
Hi
We finished our IVA in May 2012, Looking now to build credit history. Checked credit report to find no finish date for the IVA, So I will be contacting Credit agency's to get this rectified (Can anyone point me in the right direction to find a sample letter)
Also confused with credit report it has very little info
ie:
Electoral Info: from 1996
Financial assosiations: my wife's details & latest date of 05/2006
IVA :with no end date
Credit account info: my mobile phone account with all clear except one late payment 51 months ago
I applied for a credit building credit card & got declined straigth away
any thoughts on what i need to do to increase my credit rating
Many Thanks

Hi,
You will need to send your certificate of completion off to the credit ref agencies they can then get the date put on. Was the iva over 5 or 6 years if 6 years it will come off itself if not then it will be on until the 6 year mark then drop off. Is there any other bad markers on your file? If not then which credit card companies did you try I got one with Vanquis but had to cancel it due to still being in the iva but then was allowed to take one out with capital one and that came through ok.
If they don't work there is a monthly payment one that has been mentioned on this site you pay for a year and per-pay on it but make sure you keep up to the monthly payment if not will wreck your hard work.
Hope this helps.
Regards
