Lloyds TSB/Co-op branch transfers. When will we be told what to do?

Personally I avoid bank branches like the plague. But the banks are very fond of their branch networks and they love their customers to go in. So "you don't need a branch" isn't really a solution they can offer.to the mess they've got themselves into."It will take, five, 10, 15 years to get back to where we need to be. But it's no longer the individual banks that are in the wrong, it's the banking industry as a whole." - Steven Cooper, head of personal and business banking at Barclays, talking to Martin Lewis0

I just came across this post. Surely you guys understand that this decision is out of everybody's hands. The bank, the staff and the customers.
At the end of the day, going forward, this country needs healthy competition in the banking sector. This competition will, in the longer term, be to our advantage.
A change is often as good as a rest so to speak. Yes there is a little uncertainty around how/when/if peoples accounts will or will not switch or stay. Surely you would rather have this done properly to ensure minimal disruption.
These companies have legal obligations to keep you posted and in the loop. It is in both of their interests to ensure that both of their customer bases are happy and informed.
The chances are you would probably not even notice that anything has changed until one day you go to the branch and it says TSB instead of Lloyds TSB.
As for only been able to use a branch. That is ridiculous. In this day and age people need to move with the times. There are telephones, computers, mobile phones. There are free computer services at most libraries with secure internet connections to back up the already secure internet banking websites. Payments are generally made to other people and banks the same day. If you ask me it is harder work to go into a branch when you can do almost everything from your desk, or phone, at home, work on the bus ect .... you get the drift.
So, whether You, I or anyone else likes it, it is going to happen!!0 -

Have you considered that there are people out there whom don't have access to computers and technology or smartphones (for example the elderly, those with learning difficulties) who need to go into a branch to deal with there day to day banking needs, what do they do then Mr Smart !!!!?!!! When there local branch is gone and the nearest one is 20 miles away!!!Time is a path from the past to the future and back again. The present is the crossroads of both. :cool:0
