Amazon - affiliate/discount/cashback

Hi everyone.

Like many others I shop fairly regularly at amazon, a quick look on google suggests that members of their affiliate programs make around 4% of click-through spending (or am I wrong there?)

None of the cashback sites that I belong too seem to offer any cashback for amazon (TCB,Quidco & imutual.) I can however earn nectar points - earning 1 point per £(.5%) plus another point if I use my nectar credit card, bringing the total to 1%.

My question is can I get a better % somehow? I know it is against the rules to buy through your own or your friends/colleagues affiliate, but it seems like a big gap between 1% and 4%.

Alternatively does anyone know of any good affiliated charities (i.e. ones who make sure a large % of monies collected go to the cause - small efficient charities preferred.) My preference would probably be a childrens charity but would certainly consider others. I'd much rather see 4% go to good causes than 3%+ go to nectar or others.

Thanks in advance.

Some sites started out offering with Amazon and then stopped doing them, as far as I have found only Nectar seem to offer cash back with Amazon these days.
Everything has its beauty but not everyone sees it.
  • Occurs to me I've posted this on the wrong board - in my mind I link ebay and amazon. If a mod/guide could move it to more suitable place I'd be grateful.

Amazon have their own affiliate scheme which is a bit more relaxed than others as to what/where you link from. They take a long time to pay though.

This is a general, unaffiliated ecommerce board so it's OK to post here about Amazon. It would help if the title were changed as we cover all online selling sites - eBay, Amazon, eBid, Etsy, specialist sites etc and independent online traders.

That's exactly the sort of thing I was looking for OTB. Much as I love animals (and as a family we have 11 as beloved pets,) out of principle I try and give human charities priority - I know this subject evokes strong feelings and not trying to start a debate. Would be grateful for any links I could add to bookmarks (ideally I'd like to donate to children, disease, famine, homelessness etc.)

edit: I'm going to make a thread on the charities board regarding this - thanks everyone for the advice.
