I had this hard sell when I rang to activate my card too. I listened attentively then said I wanted time to think about it...

I'm pretty sure it was the same CPP one mentioned by raj75 above.

I think it is vastly overpriced for what it is actually offering. The legal costs are usually covered by your home insurance, and you can get card cover far cheaper from any number of providers (Egg have one at £29 which I have been looking at). And like everyone else has said, you are not actually liable for any amounts incurred fraudulently anyway.

something slightly different now, but a while back (2 years maybe) i opened a debenhams card to get 10% discount, i then paid it all back off. the lady filled in the form for me in the shop, and i specifically said no to the payment protection thing she was offering me. when my bill came i was charged for the payment protection :mad:

luckily for me, i'd kept a copy of the application form so was able to call debenhams and demand them removed it from my account :j

the people selling these policies get commision on everyone they sell. i'm not saying all companies are bad, but some will sign u up for things you didn;t ask for, hoping you don't notice on the statment.


with regards to your protection - cancel it!
