If you can get it on your system then a lightweight operating system such as Lubuntu 10 or Peppermint 2 would work. (The later versions of these OSs are slightly more demanding).
Even lighter OSs as other people have mentioned include Puppy Linux and also Damn Small Linux (DSL)0
