Hi,
We have just purchased the above to use with our current wired network, which has a Netgear 834g modem/router so that we can use our laptop wirelessly.
We have connected and arrived at the "Wireless Access Success Page", and can surf on the internet, however when we try to make the connection secure on the secure settings page and apply, we lose connection and access is denied.
We then have to revert to a wired connection and reset the security settings to off.
What have we done wrong?
Hope you can help guys.
Cheers:beer:

A Netgear dg834g is wireless already? (So if you have one, you don't need the AP).

if you make anything secure using wireless, and click apply, it will disconnect until you tell the pc/laptop the key, so set it up using a wired connection, and then paste the key into the pc/laptop.Ever get the feeling you are wasting your time? :rolleyes:0 -
You will also need to enter the same encryption key on the PC or laptop to be able to access the secure network.0

Albertross,
Just read your edit, sorry to be thick, but can you explain this in more detail.
Which key, and where do we find it?Blonde but learning0 -
Key in this situation means encryption password.
Store the same key on the router and on the pc/laptop, wrong or no key means no wireless connection.0 -
Do you have a netgear dg834G or a dg834?Ever get the feeling you are wasting your time? :rolleyes:0
