Preparing for snow

I tend to leave the house at around 6.45AM to go for work and am getting agitated about what to do if there is a lot of snow this year and am wondering what my best option would be:

3. Or do something else?

If it looks like a freeze, I just park near the house and wedge a sheet of cardboard (free* from the pop aisle in any big supermarket) under my wipers. Far easier than tying a car cover on, and better for the paint.

1. Get the snow broom. £9.99 is OK. Last year Costco sold a really decent one for £13.49.

2. The car cover should only really be put over a clean car. Just get a windscreen cover for £1 from Poundland. Or push the boat out and go for a magnetic one on Amazon.

3. Consider buying winter tyres/steel rims. I bid on a set of steel rims for Mrs V.s Corsa last month for £60. Got a set of part used winter tyres for £120 with 7mm of tread. £40 to fit them.

4. Buy a folding snow shovel now before it gets really cold and they go out of stock.

Snow Broom = scratched paint work.

Phone in sick = priceless.

I'm stocking up now on cat litter as its cheaper than salf/grit.

For me = park next to garage, power lead into car boot overnight, leave 1500w ceramic heater on central arm rest (it's ok, it's full of safety cutoff switches), set a timer for before I wake up, get into nice warm defrosted car

Why are you getting agitated, surely you've managed to cope up until now when we've had the odd week or two of snow.

I use a piece of thin plywood (Snow Plywood:)) to clear the snow and finish with the scraper.

its a little snow or ice why waste time or money on buying generic crap when a scraper or de icer does the job
