Hi, this is the Daily Thread for 7th October. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.

Morning Flutterby and all who follow,
Hello Kowloonboy.
Up early as the netball season has started. DD2 has her first match this morning.
We have church afterwards and then we are going to a friend's house for sunday lunch.
WM is on, hopefully will get it dry again today.
Have a lovely day everyone.:)0 -
Morning all
I was so tired last night, I was in bed asleep by 9.30pm! So no surprise that I'm wide awake by 7am. Feel rested though. I forget how a few days of vertigo can make me tired.
Sun is just rising here, think it's meant to be sunny again, but chillier.
I seem to have made a new friend. When I put the washing out yesterday a young cat appeared in my garden so I spent a few minutes petting him and he followed me round the garden when I sorted the washing. Then this morning, I opened the back door to put the recycling out and he came bounding up to me :rotfl:. I've lived here 10months and not seen him before. I reckon he is about 6mths old. Very cute. I hope he realises I'm not his home though!
Plans for today include lunch with a friend, and seeing my cousins at some point. May do a bit of NVQ work too. And will watch the F1 later, need to avoid finiding out the result before the BBC coverage though!
OS wise - Need to hoover throughout, put up curtains (I know I said that yesterday!), put away laundry, may attempt to put stuff in loft if I don't feel dizzy.
Have a lovely day all

Morning everyone
How can sitting in a car travelling make me sooooo exhausted  still feel shattered nowit was a good trip, kids seem keen to move to the country, whether that will last when it actually who knows
I chose the wrong day to wear a jumper dress, was boiling hot, more so behind the glass of the car  looks to be a another nice day here.
not loads of OS (again) as I am out with DS to a party and then on to swimming lesson. Have got the chicken to roast for tea which I will do in a sec and then head off and walk the dog.
My parents did some more decorating for us yesterday for which I am eternally grateful :T
Moorhen belated happy birthday to you x
Flutterby if you don't want a regular visitor suggest you shoo cat away. Under no circumstances let cat inside. KC goes visiting next door if she can (neighbour shoos her off) and I've had complete strangers cat in the house  (courtesy of cat flap).

Thanks Bitsy - I don't mind the cat saying hello in the garden, just don't want to confuse it if it's its first week outside IYKWIM. I would love a cat, but I'm paying for my 2 that live with my parents so can't afford one here too! Glad kids liked Bath x* Rainbow baby boy born 9th August 2016 *

Morning everyone
Thinking of April and her family and friends, hope they can come to a speedy conclusion as her parents and family must be going through a parent's absolute worst nightmare.
Hugs to those that need/want them that are having a hard/sad time at the moment x
Dull and overcast here this morning, although sun is supposed to get out later, no rain forecast.
Dinner last night was chicken curry, everything eaten and enjoyed, so no LO's to make a HM freezer ready meal. Today we have a caravan meeting that will take up most of the day, hoping it all goes ok and the right people get their wishes, if not, it's not going to be pleasant and I feel so much for those that are left to pick up the pieces. We will go and give our support but can only do as much as we can do!
I'm thinking that a cooked english brekkie would be a good idea, as the day can drag on a bit and I don't know what time we will get back later.
Went to next town yesterday and bought DS1 a new rucksack for school, both boys sold some games back to game shop and chose another each that the contributed to out of their own money. Bought myself some new undies (unfortunately not nice sexy "going out" knickers!) just everyday and work ones, bought DH some new socks. Also did treat myself to some perfume as shop had a special offer of 2 big bottles for £20 - too good a bargain to miss! I wear perfume all the time, so I do get through quite a lot, but I don't feel "dressed" without it! DH doesn't buy me bday or xmas prezzies so I buy what I want when I want it, but no-one in the house goes without IYSWIM.
Have a good day, stay safe and well x

Morning All
Thoughts still with April and her family.
Bitsy - glad your trip went well, it will put your mind at rest too being able to see where you will be going.
JackieO - Hope you feel better soon.
Welcome to Kowloonboy.
Went up to the village hall last night to help with the refreshments for a visiting theatre group. Good job a few of us went to help out as there were only 5 tickets sold and we had to be the stand in audience!! It was a play about the land which was quite good if not a little long but they didn't advertise very well. Anyway, by the time we cleared up I didn't get home till after 11. Woke at half six so very tired now!
Ironing done and DW emptied, 1st load of washing nearly ready to go out, it's cold but looks like it will be a lovely day again.
Need to go to Sainsbobs to pick up an order at some point but apart from that not much going on here.
Enjoy your Sundays. Take care.0 -
Good Morning Everyone
Frosty start here today but is dry at the moment - fingers crossed it stays dry till about 11.15 when DS' footie will finish.
Had a lovely day in Portsmouth yesterday, DD isn't having it as her first Uni choice as it feels too far away for her. I would like her to be far enough away to move out but not too far iyswim.
Back home last night and more or less went straight to bed. About to jump in the shower then take DS football. Will pop into town while he is warming up - need to find something for dinner.
OH did the housework yesterday so all I need to do today is iron - there is quite a pile though.
Better get going, have a great day all.x0 -
Morning all
Hubby had to go to B&Q yesterday after work, for work & there was a match on at the Mad Stad, it took us 3 hours to get there & back. I'm hoping for a lazy day today or a lazy couple of hours at least whilst hubby watches the GP.
I finished a cream baby blanket yesterday & I'm starting a blue one next. Pork chops for lunch today with HG veg.
Have a good day everyone.
Hugs Hester

Morning all,
Looks cold here, but very bright, have got our bedding in the wm, which can go on the line, got 3 loads dry on the line yesterday, which is great for this time of year.
We also got the blind up in the lounge, and the door hung, we just need a door k n o b now. We also got rid of all the debris from decorating the lounge, door, skirting, carpets etc, so a good day all in all.
Today I need to drop dd at work, then nip to the local mid morning boot sale, its a tiny one, but normally really good.
Lots to list on ebay when we gat back, then hopefully an afternoon nap before collecting dd.
Spag bol for dinner.
Have good days all xx0
