Hi all, there is a car which has turned up where we live, its been there about a month now and has no tax disc in the window. We have about 8 car parking spaces out in the front and 6 inside a garage complex. This car has been parking it so the windscreen faces away from siight so you would have to actually go to the front of vehicle to see if the disc is there which it isnt.
It has been driven on the road and has moved about in different parking spaces.
I remember seeing a link where you input the car reg and it comes up with if it is taxed and when it runs out, but cannot remember it. I know some people take their discs out of the car in case it gets stolen
Does anyone have the link I am talking about?
Thanks

Or you can report via freephone, 0800 325202, but don't expect much enthusiasm from them.Don`t steal - the Government doesn`t like the competition0

I had a look online and the car is apparently taxed until august, but they could have bought it and the original seller could have, or intends to send the tax disc back for a refund, just puzzling as to why they are driving the car without displaying the disc. Is it not an offence to display the disc too??And yes the lady in the avatar is me

I think the offence may be failing to display rathjer than failing to have so you are correct. It could be that they have lost it - I one had a car for which I had no tax disc holder. I left the disc on the dashboard and it dissapeared down the gap between the windscreen. Not pleased, and it cost me something to get a duplicate!0
