Thank you for the post, that is news to me. I know your experience is not pleasant, but it is quite amusing that they marketed it as low odour. I hope you see the black humour side of this.I wonder if you can claim compensation for the distress and inconvenience given that I'd want to repaint? And that does raise the question of whether or not a couple of coats of Dulux (other good brands are available) would cover up the nasty niff?

or get a cat then you won't notice the paint smellI'm only here while I wait for Corrie to start.
You get no BS from me & if I think you are wrong I WILL tell you.0 -

Yes keystone, Crown customer services told me to cover it with alkali resistant primer and repaint. When I told them both my son and I have asthma they said I should get someone else in to do it as it was not safe for us to breathe the fumes ( I have smelled the AR primer so I know it has a very strong smell when wet) Unfortuneately I can`t afford to buy the stuff let alone pay a painter to apply it for me. I knowCrown have paid for some folk to have redecorating done but no such offer for me.
Please can I ask, what is BIN? Just curious what the alternative to AR primer is and whether it could be cheaper or safer for me to use.0 -
Im a decorator and I know for sure after using the white from B&Q I will never again use that crap ,even after 4 coats it grinned, much better off getting the wickes trade white about the same price but far better coverage0

I've found that the Crown white and magnolia is rubbish!! It's very thin and you get very, very poor coverage.
However the other Crown paint, the coloured stuff is brilliant. Lovely and thick and covers exceptionally well
Haven't noticed the white/mag smelling bad, but the Apple Mist and Mellow Sage 2.5L tins strangely smelled really lovely!!0
