replace CH programmer and add a wireless room stat

Need help with this.

Current boiler is an old Thorn M80/100B.

The programmer is a Honeywell ST699

The boiler has a thermostat control on it which I think just controls the water temperature.

The house has a conventional gravity fed system. It is pumped. There is a 3 way motorised valve.

I want to replace the programmer to a newer one and add a wireless room thermostat. Currently there is no thermostat in the system.

Could I DIY this?

I will upgrade the boiler at some point but it works fine at the moment so just want to upgrade the controls.

TIA

You need to be 100% sure you can follow the wiring guides but in principal yes. So long as you aren't touching the boiler itself you are allowed to but you need to be confident with electrics.
