Not receiving e-mail notification?

Any ideas why I am not receiving e-mail notifications despite the option for it being ticked?

I only appear to be receiving notification for one thread but not others, some of these threads that I am subscribed to do have more replies but the e-mails are not notifying me..
When I noticed this a couple of days ago I went to User CP and the e-mail notification had been unticked,(not by me,I hardly ever go there),I reticked it, would this have any detrimental effect? The threads I am subscribed to and not receiving the e-mails for, have the tick against them telling me I am subscribed.

Have now sorted this problem, for some reason most of my subscribed threads had been made "no email notification", (not by me!), I have now corrected the error.
