Anyone tried having or know how to stretch knee length boots. Every year I have the same problem I fall in love with a pair of boots but they just won't fit my 40-41cm calves. I have looked at duo boots but I have not seen a pair I like as much and am seriously considering boot stretching. Would much appreciate anyone's help or advice

Hi chellewaddy and welcome! I feel your pain :) I have had similar problems in the past and have tried the boot stretcher things you can buy - like these http://www.amazon.co.uk/Boot-Stretcher-PP-LONG-STANDARD-PVC-black/dp/B004NIE2UO/ref=sr_1_23?s=shoes&ie=UTF8&qid=1349608509&sr=1-23 but didn't have much success I'm afraid. So, I visited my local cobblers - he put them on a much more "industrial" stretcher - with the caution that they wouldn't stretch much without damaging the zip. Left them there for a few days, and whilst they had stretched a little, it was probably only by 1cm maximum. Now, I tend to go for boots with elasticated legs, or ones specifically designed for wider calves - there's a thread on this exact topic https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/4203451
    HTH :)
  • You could always try going to somewhere like evans (plus sized clothing store) for some boots. They have widers fits on their calves for a better fit. I have a more muscular calf now and they fit better than the other highstreet stores...although they are just a little more expensive, but they are a better quality boot.

    I hope this helps :)
