Long Boots for Chunky Legs!

Hi Everyone,

Has anyone come accross any nice long boots yet this year, suitable for those of us which chunky calves?! I have this problem every year, and know many other do too :(

I've had boots in the past from Evans, but they can be a bit too big around the leg and also too wide in the foot.

I've tried the M&S and Next wider fitting boots and they don't actually seem that wide to me? still a bit too snug!

Occasionaly I've found lovely 'cheap' boots that are a better fit in places like Peacocks, Asda, Matalan etc. Sometimes I find the pull-on slouchy kind of boots are a bit more generous and still look just as nice as the more expensive stores!

Personally, Im after a flat, black leather boot (or not-real-leather if they are really cheap but look good!), a rounded toe, not too flat- I would still need a smallish heel height of say 1-2 cm just for comfort really, and for the boot to be at least calf length! something that still looked smart and tidy and could be dressed up or down really, not as ''casual'' as an Ugg boot! So if anyone sees any on their shopping trips, please let us fellow chunkies know :rotfl:

I too have this problem and up until my recent weight gain (which seems to have hit everything from the hips to my calves) i've had quite slim calves.
I now have chunky calves and slim ankles. :o
And a load of boots which no longer fit :rotfl:

I'll think as them as like 'that pair of jeans that you keep to slim back into'

Duo have an outlet site as well, you can be lucky if you keep an eye out - I have had several pairs of nice leather boots for under £30 each when they just happen to have my size in an end of line style.

    Duo is fantastic.

Yes, a little expensive but worth saving up for.
  • OP thanks for bringing up this issue, and thanks all for the Duo links

I'm 5-6 in shoes with wide foot and chunky calves, these peacock boots £28 are so comfy. They have 2 zips on each and a belt thing on the front, took a chance cause I feel a bit embarrassed to buy long boots but they go with everything and i walk as if i got flatties on by way bought size 6

  • Well ladies, I've been shopping on the look out all weekend and no joy
    :(

I saw some elasticated leather riding boots in asda, but the zip just wouldnt budge on that last 1 inch. I did see some nice boots in BHS that could be a possibility but didnt get the chance to try them on- a brand called TLC. they look wider and they are also elasticated so fingers crossed next time I get chance they could be an option!

Evans boots manage to go round my chunky calves and a smaller shoe size too. At least these can be tried on in store to see.
