personal injury claim against me....help

i recieved a letter today relating to a minor accident i had in 2010 where i rolled in to the back of a car whilst sat in traffic, no claim was made at the time as no damage was visable.

The letter is from the county court and i dont know how to proceed with it. They are claiming £1700 for whiplash to a child that wasnt even in the car at the time.

I have changed insurers since the accident but are they still liable?

pass it on to your insurer at the time..

Also tell your insurer that the child wasn't in the car.

Fraud is a police matter as well....report it.

You need to make urgent contact with whoever you were insured with at the time so they can take the necessary steps.

Does the County Court claim form say CPR Part 8 on it?

What you appear to have received from the County Court is a claim form that has been lodged in respect of a claim for personal-injury. You need to send this to your insurers as soon as possible in fact I would call them and inform them of the name of the court out of which the form was issued and also the court claim number so that they can file an acknowledgement form which, under the court rules, must be done within 14 days of the date service which should also feature on the front of the form. Does the form say part 7 or part 8?
