My tv (Thoshiba, 32" LCD) scrolling through channel numbers?

as title, 2/3 year old tv has started scrolling channel numbers onk a blank screen (numbers count backwards, iif that makes a difference?)..

Is there a factory reset button anywhere? I can't find manual.

have tried new batteries in the remote, taking that well away from the tv, and turning off overnight..

i get about a minute of viewing, before it happens again.

already?? pfft. wished i kept my old CRT set now.. over 10 years old, no probs (smaller screen though)..

not sure how i stand re repair, as was a competition prize, promoter was in Australia!

Had similar problems with my Toshiba--whatever button pressed on remote TV goes into backward countdown.
May sound silly but try this--
Take the batteries out of the remote.
Then press every button on the remote once.
Then replace batteries.
This seems to reset the remote and works for me.
I also use a universal remote bought for a couple of quid and silly things sometimes happen with the telly--but using the Tosh.remote after doing the above everything goes back to normal.
Worth a try.
