First direct account + free £100

I opened a first direct account and have transferred my income and direct debits to it.
However, I don't think I used the easyswitch service as I transferred them manually.
Does anyone know if I will still get the £100 or not? Or is it contingent on using the easyswitch service?
I remember when I applied online I entered my account details for my last current account.

Open a 1st Account then transfer your banking using our Easyswitch service (transferring at least two Direct Debits and/or standing orders) and salary/income of at least £1,500 per month to your 1st Account within three months of your account opening and we will add £100 to your account. This offer is only available for people who haven't previously held any account with first direct and is limited to one payment per joint relationship.
Looks like you missed out. Although you could try asking.Never ASSUME anything its makes a>>> A55 of U & ME <<<0 -

Did you actually call them and grovel a bit? They might make a goodwill gesture.0

Whats not clear about it?
How to get the perks
You must transfer a salary of at least £1,500 a month and switch at least two direct debits and standing orders. If you do this within three months, the £100 will be added to your account within 28 days of the criteria being met.
Its also very clear on FD's site.0 -
My OH Switched, transferred all DD's manually, didn't know why he's not got his £100 for switching, called them up and within a few days it was in his account - they never even mentioned the Easyswitch service to him.
You should probably give them a call and see what they say0 -

I was just saying it should mention that you must use the easyswitch service if that is the case.0 -
Copying the T&Cs to another site is no good either, as they can change at any time and then people will complain that the reproduced terms are not the same. Best to just provide a link to the site as is the case already.0

Whats not clear is the FD site says use EASY SWITCH and the above doe not....
Which is why Cheetah mentioned that info, compared to the FD site.
Could be a very expensive omission.
Do you think ManyeySavingExpert would pay it, as they have the info wrong....We're a journalistic website and aim to provide the best MoneySaving guides, tips, tools and techniques, but can't guarantee to be perfect, so do note you use the information at your own risk and we can't accept liability if things go wrong.
I guess that would be a no then.....Never ASSUME anything its makes a>>> A55 of U & ME <<<0 -
Personally, I'd say cancelling the DDs and SOs on one site and setting it up on another manually is not the definition of a 'switch'.
It is usually defined as follows:
"providing a possibility for the client to change without any obstacles, easily and quickly the bank, where he/she has a current account used for payments in the form of direct debits, orders for credit transfers and for receiving credit transfers, by opening an account in another bank where to transfer the above mentioned payments or to use for that purpose an already opened (existing) current account in another bank."
"Easyswitch" performs as exactly as specified in that paragraph ("easy and quickly"). Doing it yourself does not.
Maybe MSE could contain a "Defintions" disclaimer where it states something along the same lines.0
