Hi I have this pc that a friend bought from PC World about a year ago it has a good processer in it a pentium 4. thought I would consider upgrading it so I opened it up to see what was inside.40GB hard drive,It has samsung pc133u-333-542 ram in it not sure how much but I think its only 256mb can this be correct for such a good processor to put so little ram in seems criminal. It also has a inside tnc ver 3.11.01.26.07 card this may be the graphics card? I think this is a AGP card with 64mb memory, this system was sold with XP home on. Is it worth upgrading? What ram would it take and graphics card to boost preformance considerably. I cant understand how its running xp home, with so little ram, any techs here with their thought I would be grateful.
Thanks

Try https://www.crucial.com/uk for the ram. 512 and above should be ok for most uses. If you play games, then a better video card may be useful, but for normal use it won't make any difference.Ever get the feeling you are wasting your time? :rolleyes:0

Was thinking of flashing the bios and upgrading the ram however I cant find the info on post as to what bios is currently in the pc. I would also like to install some new ram preferably ddr ram but am unsure with the motherboard would support this and a newer graphics card how do I find out as I no longer have any advent software on the pc. I did go to crucial but it seems they dont seem to stock ram for this make of motherboard. I opened the case of the pc up but there is no make displayed on the motherboard, anybody help please. Would appreciate a link for a free bios upgrade if poss and if anybody could tell me if there is a restriction on the x graphics card the board would support I would be grateful0
