Repairing Desktop PC Power Supply

Often you can see who actually made the PSU, rather than going by the badge stuck on the PSU. This can aid your decision as to whether or not the PSU is worth repairing and/or selling. If you're of this opinion, why do you want photos of it....?
Good luck with a £10 PSU from eBay - I bet it's cost at least £4 to post it, giving the PSU a value of no more than £6. Trusting the value of a computer which could potentially be worth £100+ with a £6 PSU...not the decision I would make.
About 5-6 years ago I spent about £60 on an Enermax PSU. I've cleaned the dust out of it a few times, and it has never given any hints of a problem. What I'm saying is, would you rather put a £5 lock on your house, or a £50 lock? It depends on how you value your house.
I can understand your wanting to repair the PSU - in this economy, it might make sense to. But all I'm really trying to put across, is it actually worth the effort of turning the soldering iron on or not?0 -
Yes, but since I can't imagine anyone paying more than a couple of quid for blown PSU (if that), then the postage would cost more than a fiver on top.No free lunch, and no free laptop
