Be careful with this organization. They advertise with discounts that are similar to various other discount websites such as Quidco, Topcashback, Vouchercodes, etc.
Unlike these websites, GBD asks a shocking £14.95 per month after a month free trial. Fair enough you can cancel it, but they know some people forget about it. That's how they get the money!
  • I too have joined the ranks of the scammed with this company :(
I bought flight tickets through FlyBe and am now being debited £14.95/month. I've called them and have received a cancellation reference number but I'm peeved that this has happened in the first place. Have contacted FlyBe as well and am waiting for a response...I'm guessing that they are getting a kickback from this company for letting them piggy back on their website.
When I called them this morning I was told that they were an "Offshore company in India "!
    Waiting to see if:
    a) It IS cancelled
    b) I get re-imbursed

    Bah Bloody Humbug !!

What did GBD say when you asked them why they had taken the money?
  • I found this forum via Google and joined MSE in order to contribute.

The Sports Direct / Great British Discounts Cashback offer is a SCAM and should be avoided at all costs. YOU WILL NOT RECEIVE ANY CASHBACK.

I personally posted my Cashback claim form to their address (physically posted it through the letter box) yet when I asked them to confirm receipt of that mail item they alleged it hadn’t been received.
I then subsequently emailed my Sales Receipt and Cashback Claim form to them, twice, and each email generated an automated response informing me that they would respond within 3 business days. Of course, they never did respond.

The “Customer Services” telephone number is useless and gives you no option for speaking to anyone. It also cuts-off / hangs-up the call for no reason.

Great British Discounts should be taken to task on this. It’s a scam and a very obvious one. I’m angered that I was duped like everyone else.
  • Yep, CrackerG, exact same thing happened to me.

Bought a pair of trainers in November 2014 through Sports Direct and after getting the confirmation email for the order, received an email from Great British "discounts". Followed the instructions and posted off the form with the relevant details and....nothing. Except losing £14.95 a month for the last three months!

Freephone number is automated. I did cancel my membership this month and got an email confirming the cancellation, but I feel cheated.

I rang Sports Direct on: 0844-545-7885 and they said although SD are associated with them via the supposed discount offer, I needed to contact them direct. I explained to SD that I had tried phoning them but she just kept repeating herself. In the end she transferred me to Great "British" Discounts and it was a call centre in India! This didn't fill me with confidence. I tried explaining the situation, but hung up in frustration.

I sent GBD another email and received the standard automated reply about "3 working days". Can't think why any legitimate company would associate with this less than honest bunch.
