dr debugg 45

having problems with a new build

asrock z68 extreme4 gen3
gskill ddr3 8 gb (2 x 4) F3-12800CL9D-8GBXL
i5 2500k
win 7 64 bit

pc will only boot with 1 ram module installed. when i install both modules pc will not boot - dr bugg 45 error

have googled and tried re-seating cpu, both ram modules work independantly.

anyone got any ideas?

    take out the working ram and put in the other ram. Hopefully that will not work and then you have duff ram module

    Thanks. Both ram work independently but not together. Have updated bios and now get a Dr debug code 55 instead of 45 but still won't boot with both modules installed

    does each RAM stick work by itself in both slots?? Actually, check the notes out on this page:-

    I have a dodgy "i" key, so ignore spelling errors due to "i" issues, ...I blame Apple :D

    Will it boot to the BIOS menu? Try 2 sticks of a different brand.

    Set as dual channel? Tried different slots?

    it will boot into bios menu with one module in either a1 or a2 slots.

    i have tried kingston 2gb with same results. i even tried 4 x 2gb but get same dr debug 55 error

    i thought that just by inserting modules into a1 and b1 or a2 and b2 that dual channel mode was activated or does slot b1 and b2 have to be activated as it appears that they are not working

    I'd get on to asrock support, it sounds like your *2 slots may either be goosed or you've missed a bios or config setting somewhere....

    UPDATE for anyone with same problem. retailer confirmed board was faulty and is replacing
