I'm a bit nervous now, just had an email from DD to say that there are definitely 'dognappers' in the area, we had heard rumours. One of her colleagues Dad was followed home with his dog yesterday and they followed him right into his house, they only cleared off when his wife and son appeared. Apparently they are stealing the dogs to use for training fighting dogs. It's really worried me, we'll have to be really aware of what's going on around us when we're out. Apparently they pull up in vans and just snatch dogs while you're on the street too
That's so dreadful. There has been quite a lot of coverage in the news lately about this. They have been giving guidelines because of the seriousness now of the situation
These people are absolute scum.
Please, don't go out with the dogs by yourself, always take someone with you.
They are also advising that even if the dogs are out in the garden, then to go out with them.
Change walking routines (times and routes). Also as an extra safety thing, keep the pets on extending leads if walking on open ground.
As a dog and cat owner all my life, I find this so distressing. Maybe RSPCA or PDSA etc can advise, they may have more info re incidents in your area and have a lot of advice to hand to ease your mind.
Big hugs to you, yours and them beautiful doggies. Alf xxxxxx:)MILITARY WIVES CHOIRSHELP for HEROES

Do you ever have one of those days???:o
I always try and walk most days, weather permitting.
There's a bit of overgrown land near here that peeps have been clearing.
Well, as I was walking past, I thought I saw that a hedgehog had been disturbed, didn't look well, was lying there on its back.
I fretted and worried about it and returned with a box/gardening gloves, with my glasses on (!) ready to save it.
I have an admission
........... on closer inspection .........
i'm ashamed to say ......... it was ....... an old wooden scrubbing brush. Well my excuse is, it was sort of spiky and sad looking!!!
Thank the lord I didn't put it in the box and take it to the local vets for further inspection and possible life saving procedures!!!!:eek:
Specsavers here I come!!!

Just had my delivery from Rubbersoles which was delivered by Yodel.
The poor young guy delivering had never been in this area before and was delivering to villages all over the area. Had DH helping him work out a rough route as although he has Sat Nav he had no idea where he should go to next. No wonder they make such a mess of their deliveries when they are sent out with no training.Mar Wins :- £2 GfK Media

Oh I feel sorry for him - you are right - no training and them Sat Navs are not always so good. It's ok if you know the area roughly, hope he finds his route ok, would hate it if it was my son doing that, fingers crossed he finds his way round and gets back home safe and sound. xxxxxMILITARY WIVES CHOIRSHELP for HEROES
