Fixing Ford Focus Roof Bars

I've been able to get some Ford roof bars for fitting to a Ford Focus from Freecycle. However, there are no fixings with them and I'm wondering whether ordinary bolts can be used or whether there might be a fixing kit available from Ford?

I've looked in the Ford manual but no diagrams or information - no doubt they come with the roof bar kit!
