More ram for an old laptop - worth it?

Yep, if the memory is faster than what was quoted they generally work at the slower speeds e.g. if you have 2700(333) and 3200(400) mixed the 3200 will only work at 2700I found a site saying this was compatible - if it needs 333 will the 400 from ebay listed above also work?4.8kWp 12x400W Longhi 9.6 kWh battery Giv-hy 5.0 Inverter, WSW facing Essex . Another vote for Crucial. Even if you buy the memory elsewhere it will tell you how many slots you have and what you can put in.
If you can get to 2GB with XP I think you will consider it money well spent.0 -
Some more thanking - stuck in the 1gb stick for £15 mentioned above (added bonus 5-7 day delivery came in 2) and the machine works beautifully. Such a shame windows is so ram hungry, the actual processor load is obviously not a problem. I'm now thinking of adding ram to another old laptop although I understand that getting at the slot on this other one is a major nightmare.I think....0
