Doesn't say its a sale item. Strange.
Bought one anyway and got a confirmation email.
On the idealo comparison site they are still showing at £489.99 at HMV but when you click it the price is £1490 -

I don't think you will get anything via Quidco - when you follow the Quidco link to HMV it says :-
"Cashback is not paid on digital hardware purchases this includes iPods, MP3 Players, Headphones, Games consoles, gadgets, tablet computers etc"0 -

I've taken the gamble too, been wanting an iPad for ages but just can't justify it. I've never used android before, how will this compare to the iPad?0

After seeing bargainqueen8's' post about getting an email from HMV advertising half price tablets, and the fact that it's been that price for a while now, I do wonder if it a genuine price, although, it would still be very very cheap.
It was in the high £400's on the same site a few days ago.
About the cheapest I can find on ebay of teh same model, brand new, is around £260
So, I still assume it is a miss-price.
I guess only time will tell.
Not sure if i'll be almost dissapointed if it is a genuine price, lol. (despite being a complete bargain and guaranteed to actually receive the item)
We like to think we are getting a 'gift' of sort (mistake price)0 -
