I ran office 2000 disc to install excel and got message "microsoft outlook run and set as default mail client." On my "Set Program Access and Defaults Page" there is'nt a field for ss and Im stuck. There is a field for email program but I wasn't going to change emails at present. Can I set excel office to default? If so how?
I really would appreciate some help in novice language.

Why not simply open the file, it should open in excel anyway if you have it installed.

  • Do what superscraper says. Download the file and try to open and see what happens. Hopefully it will open. If it won't you could download open office (cross that bridge later if necessary).

With it asking for default email address, client etc thats just outlook trying to dominate control of your email. If your using online access to your emails then just carry on doing that, ignore outlooks dominance attempts!

For now download the spreadsheet file and try to open it.

Thank you Vertical Fool and Superscraper. Excel is now installed and working. I am too obedient and try to do everything M.S. tells me. Hopefully I've learnt my lesson.
