My daughter is just going through a divorce and living back at home with us.
She owes no money apart from a joint bank loan, £15000 with her OH this was taken out to cover his previous depts.

She has just found out the OH may be going for a IVA to pay off his other new debts, including a proposed settlement of 4k against the joint loan
( unknown for sure as we do not know who he has been talking too )

What are her options?
She has already learnt one lesson the hard way.

Thanks for any help

  • If your daughters Ex does an IVA she will be responsible for the joint loan as his liabilty will be taken into the IVA

Your daughter will either have to pay or if she cannot pay seek advice about a DMP, IVA or bankruptcy for herself
