Shopping at night for reduced food

I really hate the way people push & shove to get to the reduced section then just grab everything in sight. My local Sainsbury's obviously feels the same as they now have a number of small reduced price areas dotted around the stores for the counter produce and other stuff is just yellow stickered but left in place on the usual shelves. Gives everyone a chance to pick up a bargain or two as you wander around the store

I have lurked around on this board for quite a while now and have picked up some great tips. Finally got round to registering yesterday

Anyway, I am a massive YS hunter. My local Asda has a large section that is pretty much always full to the brim with reduced chilled stuff plus a large trolley of bakery items. I have had a field day in there on many occasion. Always manage to get Warburton Thins and other sandwich stuff for my daughter's lunch box as well as lots of Asda's kids food stuff to bung in the freezer.
I cannot imagine going back to buying everything full priced, obviously there are some things you have to pay full price for but a little bit of time and effort can knock a fair bit off your bill
Difficult to say with Asda when they start to knock down as, like I say, there's reduced stuff pretty much all the time. I live in a town with everything but a Mr T in close proximity to each other so maybe that has something to do with it. Mr S seems to have YS stuff dotted all over the place in my store.Hi, my name's Katy and I'm a (former) spendaholic! :wave:NSD - November Challenge - 7/105/11/12 - 7 Weeks to Christmas Weight Loss Challenge! 2/140 -

I went to my local sainburys just after 8 tonight and they still reducing meat, picked a port joint for £1.89 normally £8 ish and a couple of other bits. And they close at 9pm.
But they throwing pre-packed cakes in massive clear bin liners to be chucked rather than reduced
