What kind of country has an appeal system that lasts 8 years. i bet secretly he's glad to get out of here-if he goes -it wouldn;t happen under Sharia law that's for sure"if the state cannot find within itself a place for those who peacefully refuse to worship at its temples, then it’s the state that’s become extreme".Revd Dr Giles Fraser on Radio 4 20170

If you want a longer one, look to the USA where people can be on death row for decades.
Presumably that's what zaksmum thinks is real justice.
I just hope Zak behaves himself. There are two types of people in the world: Those that can extrapolate information.0 -
I believe it's correct in the USA that it takes years before a man is executed. There is a proper appeal process that should be followed when the stakes are the highest that can be.
However 8 years to extradite a man from the UK to the USA is absolutely ridiculous.
On a side note this thread should really be on the discussion boardThis is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
So, just to be clear, Goater, you believe that for less serious offences it is not proper that the correct appeals process be followed? Perhaps you'd like to give us a list of offences for which you think that due legal process should not be followed. And if due process is not to be followed, should the verdict at cessation be in favour of the prosecution or the defence?0

Sorry zedicus. I don't mind arguing with azari as he's reasonably intelligent. However I'm not prepared to demean myself again by arguing at your intellectual level. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

Ok, I don't agree with being on death row for decades but if someone murders another person, I've got no problem with the death row bit.
Anyway, it's only decades because the convicted murderer keeps on appealing.
Hamza is not one bit happy with heading for the USA prisons, that's for sure.0 -

I understand, Goater. Obviously you do not want to make yourself look stupid by trying to argue at a level well above your capabilities, knowing that if you do you will only make an even bigger fool of yourself than you have already. No need to apologise, I quite understand.0
