Halifax online - cannot access A/C details

Hi,

is anyone else experiencing a similar issue to this?

I can log in to my Halifax online account but it does not display the details for my account instead it gives my balance as N/A and my overdraft limit as n/a

Also I was able to use my card earlier today but just tried to buy some shopping in Tesco and my card was declined - I know for a fact that I have money in my account so I'm thinking that the problem is with Halifax's payment systems - am I alone??

Thanks

  • Yes, it's happening with my account too. Seems to be happening with Lloyds online too (run on the same system I believe).

Hopefully it'll be up and running shortly.

    Hi,

Having the same problem. Can't view my student current account but can see my reward current account. Former was rejected at a cashpoint.

Can't get through to customer service on the phone and the website doesn't have any notice regarding problems.

Mum and Aunt can't view any of their accounts online.

Mine is OK, balances showing OK, but it seems that some Lloyds customers are having the same problems, I guess as they run off the same systems

  • Thnaks guys - relieved to hear its not just me!
  • I know, I was starting to panic, tried to use machine at local shop to get money and wouldn't give me any, then wouldn't even tell me balance and to contact my bank. Went to the Halifax to kick up, and was met with a locked door with a woman at the other side telling me computers were down and not sure when they will be back up again. Not much help when you are trying to access your own money. I have just had an email from holiday company who have tried to take payment for the balance of my holiday and Halifax have just declined. Hope I wont be penalised for this.
  • My advice is to take note of any payments that you cannot make (and any subsequent penalties you may incur) and also any inconvenience that you are caused - e.g not being able to buy any groceries - then use this when you write a strongly worded letter of complaint and ask for compensation
  • Just been able to log in again and all balances correct, and was able to make a faster payment to nationwide.

I always thought that Lloyds and Halifax were on different partitions so one system going down should not have affected the other.

Is this not the case now, are lloyds and halifax systems merged together on the same computer system, or are they as I expect them to be same system on different server partitions.
