Logging out of google on iPad - help!

Hello all!
Please help, it's driving me mad!
My son and his friend were using my iPad last week. Sons friend logged into some google account (no idea what it actually is to be honest!) when I open safari I get a banner at the top when on google homepage that says his name and other icons. I've clicked on his name attempting to sign him out but cannot figure out how to do it!
It's somehow logging all my web history on his account - or I think it is, as my son has come home from school yesterday and asked a random question about going to Barbados on holiday - I wish! But I was looking at flights with a friend on my iPad the other day. He's also mentioned a few other things that he wouldn't know about that relate to my search history, mainly Xmas presides and is he getting x y and z or Xmas. The only explanation is either he's key logging my iPad (impossible) or his mate has access to my web history - a quick google shows this is a feature of the google account. Maybe he's psychic?
Anyway, how do I log it out?! Please don't say press the log out button, that's been a standard response from people I've spoken to! There is no such icon.
Thank you
Anna x

I've gone into safari settings and cleared history, cookies and then the website data in advanced settings, it looks like its gone but then pops back up! I can always use another of the browsers I've got installed , it's just really annoying me!0

there shold be a wee profile pic on the top right, click that and select the sign out button there?
and if that doesn't work, click the same bit and click account, then on the left go to the account bit and account activity, there should be a link to view the web history - you can delete the browsing history in there! This is a system account and does not represent a real person.
