Help with short UK break please

A friend of mine is getting married at the end of this month and wants to book short surprise break for his (soon to be) wife. He's asked for my help to find something but I have no idea where to start!!
He wants to spend "a few hundred"
and be somewhere away from lots of shops. They live in Fife and he would prefer not to travel too far. He did mention the possibility of a little cottage or chalet type accommodation but is open to suggestions of just about anyting.
It will be for 2 adults and a 2 year old child for 2/3 nights, leaving 30th April.
Any suggestions please for places to stay and things of interest to do?
TIA

rural Perthshire? Not too far from Fife, but far enough away (perhaps an hour) to feel like you're away from home? Kenmore, Pitlochry, anywhere off the A9 like Blair Atholl? Places like that are far enough away from the main drag, but close enough to small rural villages to get a pint of milk! Try googling cottages Perthshire and see what comes up, otherwise contact CKG Galbraith in Perth as the have a rural lettings agency, although their minimum let I think is for a week. I know up near me there are a few cottages for rent, pm me if you want more details (I live in Perthshire).0
