iPhone scuffed - not as described

Hi everyone, in a bit of a pickle!
I did my research and got an iPhone from eBay. I paid within 6 hours of winning by PayPal and I have 100% feedback (134) and the seller had 100% (65) but with a neutral or two.
Long story short after getting lots of rude/sharp messages from the seller regarding when he'd send the phone out, I received it yesterday and am really happy with it for the most part. It was described as "mint condition...it has had screen protectors on front and back since day 1" which I can tell is true...the only thing is, the silver-chrome bumper is gashed on the top right corner. Noticeably so, and there was no mention of this in the listing at all. It is certainly not "mint" condition. I might've gone for another eBay item for a slightly lower price if I knew about the damage.
I sent the seller a message as soon as I received the item and noticed the damage and lo-and-behold I get a very rude reply from him (bearing in mind I have been nothing but polite, and just said I was disappointed with the condition of the phone as I found the description quite poor for not mentioning the gash).
His reply was: "The phone is in mind condition it has had screen protectors since day 1 to say the phone is in poor condition you are wrong I knew I should not have dealt with you from the beginning!! Send me it back and I will just refund the money and it to sell to somebody else who won't just complain!!!!!" [sic]
Is it worth me launching a PayPal dispute over poor description? I'd like a partial refund (Maybe £20-30 as this is some of the difference for the models listed as damaged), but if he isn't going to play ball I am happy to keep the phone and just cut my losses. My other question is I am scared to leave negative feedback because he is clearly antagonising me and my 100% is important to me!
Thanks for reading everyone

You may be happy to have a reduction but if the seller doesn't want to give one, then you cannot force it, neither can eBay/PayPal.
It's all or nothing.
He cannot leave negative feedback for you unless he buys something from you.0 -
forget partials
return it by special delivery
no need for a dispute unless he doesnt refund
in which case you will already have tracking to supply0 -
I'm pretty sure that sellers can't leave you negative feedback anymore so don't worry on that count.0

AS above, return it- do not bother dealing with this seller.
As for negs- again as above assuming you don't risk buying and selling on the same account (never a good idea) you are perfectly safe.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.
