George Foreman little grill

Just bought a George Foreman and am looking for ideas, recipes I can use.
It does take up a bit of space but think it'll be worth it.

We had the AWT for this reason. The non-stick coating has all come off so we have just replaced it with the New Grilleration GF one, which now has removable dishwasher friendly plates.
I love mine, it's great for chicken, burgers, tuna steaks (only takes a couple of minutes or it'll be too dry), sliced veg (eg sweet potato) and toasted sandwiches (panini with ham, cheese and tomato, yum!)
Sorry, that's about as adventurous as I get, but I wouldn't be without mine...0 -
I bought a baby GF last week from a Charity Shop - still in it's box, as new for £4.00:j My daughter had got one to use a uni and when she bought it back with her in the summer it was used a lot. It seemed easier to use than the grill and I am sure uses less electricity especially if you are cooking a snack just for one. This week I have mainly been using it for .. toasted sandwiches, roasted veg burgers hmmm and burgers for my son. I am very pleased with it but then risking £4.00 is not the same as £12.00True wealth lies in contentment - not cash. Dollydaydream 20060

Why would you want to? cleaning the george is as simple as a wipe over with kitchen towel and a bit of oil occasionally, dont see why youd want to take the plates off and wash them putting in more effort than neccesary? Sorry no offence meant i just dont understand that.
I cant recomend the george highly enough, ive had one for 5 years and along with my slow cooker its the most used piece of cookware in the house, the oven only gets used for pasta bakes and cakes
They get out far more fat than a normal grill does, i was reminded of this this week when i couldnt be bothered to get the gf out of the cupboard and did a burger in the grill instead, it was so fatty compared to what im used to it was almost inedible to me now. i wont be doing that again.
i would say if you cook for 4 a little one will probably be too small but i would definately recomend a gf to you, hope you come to a decision soon

I noticed on Curries online this week that they sell a special GF sponge which is ridged for cleaning the grills, cost £1.99 although I agree I use kitchen towel to clean mine.
Tesco have their own version, middle size for less than £14.0 -
I've got the big one and I love it, I did have the small one but when I started using it more we out grew it, the amount of fat that comes off food makes me feel sick, but can be reused for the birds, and as a treat on the dogs dried food. Cooks things quicker aswell. I also have a grill and oven combined, which was becomeing a nightmare, so my grill rarely gets used now as I do what I need to in oven and my George does the rest.

When I use my GF I like to put a couple of sheets of dampened kitchen towels between the warm plates after use and before I have chance to 'wash-up'. The steam created loosens any burnt on bits.

Glad i found this thread just bought one for my MIL for christmas.
Really want one for myself now.
Bought a large one for her but in currys the small one was £15.00.
Maybe the large one will be reduced after christmas.When life gives you a hundred reasons to cry, show life that you have a thousand reasons to smile0 -
for great toasted sandwiches i always think you can't beat just bunging them in a dry frying pan. Is a doddle to clean and they don't get too squished. And because you don't need to squish it till the last moment you can add things like lettuce at the last moment which would presumably go all limp in the GF grill.Rebecca Martin0
