Transfer itunes playlist to Android phone?

Hi, I have some playlists for running which I have on my ipod and on itunes. However, I have a samsung s3 phone and I would prefer to just take that when I go for a run, so that I can use the running apps and listen to music at the same time. I have transferred albums to the phone, but was wondering if it was possible to transfer playlists? Thanks for any advice x

Short answer 'no'. You will have to recreate them from scratch.

Update: I seem to have had at least partial success by first creating a folder on the desktop and then dragging the songs from the playlist window in itunes into the folder on the desktop (make the itunes window smaller than full screen in order to be able to drag, as copy and paste does not seem to work) . From there it is possible to drag the folder into the SD card of the phone.
Only problem is that a few of the songs (but not all of them?) are DRM protected. I think about 75% of the playlist has transferred successfully though, so I'm happy with that for now.

DRM has now been removed from itunes plus so you should be able to download them again from the cloud service (unless older than 2009).. or burn them to cd and rip :) to remove DRM

The method that burn & rip is troublesome.Just make a google search with the keywords -"4 iTunes DRM Remover/Converter Freeware & Shareware" and you will remove iTunes DRM easily.
